Alana has extensive mediation and group facilitation experience in justice, community and school settings. She has trained hundreds of restorative justice facilitators and mediators in British Columbia and currently supports and consults for new and established programs. Alana has additional experience in non-profit management, crisis intervention and community organizing.

Alana has assisted in developing various initiatives involving elders, at-risk adults, people with disabilities, Indigenous communities, youth, former prisoners and victims and survivors.

She is a full-time faculty member in criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she continues to inspire and be inspired by students and diverse colleagues. Alana believes in collaborative dialogue and life-long learning as a source of personal and social transformation. Her formal educational journey has recently ended with the completion of her PhD in criminology.
