Public Workshops

Q – What time do public workshops start?
A – Please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45am to sign in. The workshop will start at 9:00AM and finish around 4:00PM. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM.

Q – Where is the workshop location?
A – Go to Workshop Registration and view the workshop you are attending. The workshop location can be found there, alongside other workshop information.

Q – How many participants are in each workshop?
A – To better facilitate group interaction, participation is limited to 60 participants in most workshops. Attendance usually ranges from 25-40 participants.

Q – Which workshops are coming next?
A – Our final winter-spring schedule is posted in November and our fall schedule is posted in July.

Q – How will I know if ACHIEVE received my registration form?
A – When you’ve completed your online registration it will say your order has been received. Shortly after you’ve completed the registration you will receive your invoice or receipt to your email. If you do not receive a confirmation within 1 business day, please contact our office.

Q – Will I receive a certificate?
A – All participants who attend the entire workshop will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the workshop. Certificates will not be given to those who can only attend part of the workshop.

Q – Can I register at the door?
A – We strongly suggest you register in advance to ensure seating. However, if there is space available you may register at the door (we encourage you to call in advance to ensure there is space available).

Q – Is lunch provided?
A – Lunch is not provided (except for the Train-The-Trainer workshop). Our training venues either include a restaurant or are located close by.

Q – Will the room be warm or cold?
A – We encourage you to bring a sweater or dress in layers as the room temperature often varies.

Q – What is your cancellation policy?
A – Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.

Q – Can you send me a certificate I lost or forgot to get?
A – There is a $15.00 administration and postage fee for certificates lost or not picked up at the training venue.

Q – Will I receive continuing education credits for this workshop?
A – Our workshops are approved for continuing education credits with Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), Chartered Professionals in Human Resources in Saskatchewan (CPHR Saskatchewan), Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Manitoba (CPHR Manitoba), Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Alberta and Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia & Yukon.

Live Webinars

Q – When will I receive the log in details?
A – Webinar participants will receive login details and information about viewing the live webinar by email approximately 3 days prior to the date of the event.

Q – How long are the live webinars?
A – The live webinars are 60 – 70 minutes in length.

Q – What time are the live webinars?
A – The live webinars begin at 1:00pm Central Time. Please check your time zone.

Q – Will I be able to ask the trainer questions?
A – You will be able to type a question or two to the trainer at the end of the webinar.

Q – Will I receive a certificate?
A – If you would like to receive a certificate at the completion of the live webinar you can contact our office by email or by phone and we will send you a certificate by email.

Q – Is there a resource manual to follow while watching the webinar?
A – No, we do not have abbreviated versions of our resource manuals available. You are welcome to purchase a resource manual on our website however, these are the full day workshop versions so there would be more information than is discussed in the webinar.

Q – Can I receive a copy of the power point slides?
A – Unfortunately, at this time, the power point is not available.

Q – Will the trainer or other participants be able to see or hear me during the live webinar?
A – No, the participants and the trainer will not be able to see or hear you but you do need to be sure that your microphone is muted.

Q – What is required to view the live webinar?
A – To view the live webinar, you will need a desktop computer with speakers to view. You can check the system requirements.

On-demand Webinars

Q – What is required to view an on-demand webinar?
A – To view an on-demand webinar, you will need to have a computer with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and speakers.

Q – How long will I have access to the on-demand webinar?
A – Once we receive payment, you will have access to the webinar for 30 days. After the 30 days, the link will expire.

Q – Will I receive the same information from the webinar as I would if I attended a public workshop?
A – No, the webinar is an abbreviated version of our workshops and will not cover all of the material that our in-person workshops do.

Q – What will I see on my computer screen the day of the webinar?
A – You will be able to see the presenter and the powerpoint presentation at the same time.

Q – Will I receive a certificate?
A – Yes, you can receive a certificate for an on-demand webinar. Once you have viewed the entire webinar a certificate request will pop up under the video screen. Complete your name and email address and you will receive an email with the certificate attached. *Please Note, if you are viewing the webinar on a mobile device you will not be able to access the certificate request.

Q – Can I receive a copy of the power point slides?

On-Site Training

Q – How can we offer a workshop in our community/school/organization?
A – We make it easy to bring our workshops to your site. You can visit our On-Site Training page for more information about how it works, and the benefits of on-site training. Or you can email us at [email protected] or call us at 1-877-270-9776 for more details and a fee structure. When you call, ask for the On-site Training Coordinator.

Q – Are you available to do a training on a specific date?
A – We are normally quite flexible with training dates and can accommodate most requests. Check with our On-site Training Coordinator as to our trainers’ availability.

Q – How far in advance should I book a date for on-site training?
A – We can often find availability on short notice. However, in order to secure your preferred training dates, it is best to contact us 6 weeks to 3 months in advance.

Q – Can you offer training in my remote community?
A – Yes, we will come to you! Our facilitators are based in most major cities across Canada. They frequently travel to remote locations throughout Canada and the US.

Q – What is the minimum or maximum number of participants needed for an on-site workshop?
A – We can accommodate any size of group. Most clients find that 10-30 participants provides a good sized group for an interactive workshop.

Q – Do your trainers deliver keynote and plenary sessions for conferences?
A – Yes, with some frequency. Please contact an On-Site Training Coordinator for specific arrangements.

Q – Can you customize your workshop to fit the needs of my team?
A – Yes, with on-site training we can easily tailor the workshop to fit your unique context. If you need a workshop that is shorter or longer than we have listed, we can often modify our delivery to fit your timeframe. Let us know if you don’t see the topic you need.

Q – Can we receive certificates for on-site training?
A – Yes, if you want them. After the workshop, you can submit a list of participant names to your On-site Training Coordinator. We can create certificates for your group, and send them to you in a PDF or printed format.

Q – Do your workshops qualify for continuing education credit hours?
A – Many certifying bodies have recognized ACHIEVE workshops for continuing education credit.

Q – Do your trainers have experience working in Indigenous, First Nation and Inuit contexts?
A- Yes. Our trainers are culturally sensitive and see it as a privilege to be invited into Indigenous, First Nation and Inuit communities to facilitate training. We believe in building relationships and approach teaching with humility and an open heart and mind. Q – Can you assist with planning multiyear training plans?
A – Yes, we can help you to assess organizational training needs and provide guidance in developing a training plan that builds on learning from one year to the next. One way we do this is through our multi-day certificate programs (Mental Health Counselling, Crisis and Trauma Response) that can be done over months or years. We customize certificate programs to your specific interests. Check out our Certificate Programs page or contact our Managing Director for more information.

Q – Do you offer Train the Trainer programs?

A – Yes, we can train your staff to deliver most of our workshops using a Train-the-Trainer format. For our clinical workshops, certain education and clinical experience level requirements apply for trainers. Q – Do you offer on-site workshops in French?

A – Yes, we have several bilingual trainers, and we can translate our workshop materials into French. Contact us for more information.
