Aaron Lyons

Aaron holds a Masters Degree in Conflict Transformation and is an experienced facilitator and trainer specializing in mediation, conflict resolution, and restorative justice. Throughout his career he has provided leadership for a variety of organizations, and for close to 15 years, he has facilitated high-conflict conversations for both small and large groups of people. Aaron has a passion for supporting people through high-stakes and emotionally charged conversations. He believes that conflict presents a vital opportunity for individual and organizational growth. In addition to training with ACHIEVE, Aaron is a consultant in private practice, where he works with schools, criminal justice, and other organizations both locally and internationally. A passionate facilitator, he brings an upbeat, insightful, and engaging presence to all of his workshops.

Alana Abramson

Alana is an experienced leader and has extensive mediation and group facilitation experience in justice, community and school settings. She holds a PhD in Criminology on the topic of transformational learning. As a former Executive Director for a non-profit organization, Alana’s experience in mentoring and leadership has provided her with a unique skill set that combines academic understanding with practical knowledge. In addition to training with ACHIEVE, she is a full-time faculty member in criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she continues to inspire and be inspired by students and diverse colleagues. Alana believes in collaborative dialogue and life-long learning as a source of personal and social transformation. She is an engaging presenter who is passionate about her work, which allows her to easily facilitate ongoing learning for workshop participants.

In the summer of 2019, ACHIEVE is offering a unique opportunity to complete our 5-day Certificate Program over a one week period. This program provides participants an opportunity to develop a set of skill-based competencies in conflict resolution.

The training will occur in Vancouver, BC starting on Monday July 15, 2019 and concluding Friday, July 19, 2019 (9AM-4PM each day).

Registration Information

Register Early! Seating is limited.

Children and unregistered guests are not permitted in the meeting rooms.

The Early Registration rate is available for those participants who submit both their registration form and payment 3 weeks before the workshop.

Participants will receive a spiral bound training manual and a certificate of completion.

Workshop Schedule

The workshops start at 9:00 AM and conclude around 4:00 PM. Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on the first day to check in and receive a training manual. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM, unless otherwise stated above. Our half day workshops start at 9:00 am and conclude at 12:00pm

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.

Group Registration Instructions

To register a group for a workshop, register for selected workshop, then once in shopping cart, add quantity of participants and provide names of all participants.

Continuing Education Credit

Workshop participants receive a certificate indicating credits awarded based on the length and completion of the workshop.  A two day workshop earns 12 Continuing Education hours, a one day workshop earns 6 hours and a half day workshop earns 3 hours.  While many associations and licensing bodies accept ACHIEVE workshops for Continuing Education Credit, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body you are requesting the credits for.
