Carinna D’Abramo Rosales, Speaker at ACHIEVE Women in Leadership Conference

Topic: Why a Feminist Approach to Leadership Matters

Carinna will share her experience with SEED Winnipeg Inc.’s Co-Director model, outlining the challenges and opportunities that come from a shared leadership approach and why using a feminist lens in program design helps build capacity.

Biography

As the Co-Director at SEED, Carinna focuses on both program and enterprise development for low-income individuals, groups, neighborhoods, and projects. She has played a lead role in developing the Business & Enterprise Support & Training (BEST) program, and works with various community partners to provide programming for youth, newcomers, and Indigenous entrepreneurs.

Carinna has also been involved in the design and development of Recognition Counts, a microloan program for skilled immigrants seeking qualification recognition in Canada. She is part of the Manitoba Social Enterprise Strategy and the Manitoba Cooperative Association Board of Directors. Her focus has been on the development of local social enterprise endeavors in Winnipeg while engaging with local and national practitioner groups. She believes that job creation and poverty reduction work hand in hand.
