Trainer Position

Thank you for your interest in a Trainer Position at the ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership. Currently, we are not actively interviewing new trainer applicants in all geographical locations; however, we review applications bi-annually.  

We have interest in trainer applications from: Thunder Bay and Yellowknife and applicants from Toronto and Vancouver who have leadership experience.

We encourage applications from trainers who are fluent in French, from Indigenous heritage, and from people representing other minorities.

Description: ACHIEVE is seeking trainers to facilitate workshops across Canada and the United States on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for part-time professionals who are willing to travel occasionally. ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership, is a division of the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute (www.ctrinstitute.com) that provides professional training and consulting services for individuals, communities, and organizations in the areas of leadership, conflict, communication, and organizational development. 

Trainers will receive teaching materials, including a participant resource manual, a PowerPoint slide deck, a lesson plan, and all workshop support resources.

Time requirement: The time commitment varies based on each trainer’s availability and ACHIEVE’s needs. Initially trainers start training periodically and over time our busier trainers may train up to 6-8 days a month.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary degree and/or training
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Experiential knowledge of workshop material

Trainer Supplies: Trainers provide their own LCD projector, computer and audio speakers.

Our Application Process: 

Step 1: Resume and References

Submit a resume with references, a cover letter outlining your professional and training background, and specifically which workshop you can facilitate. Please confirm your acceptance of our “Mission, Vision and Beliefs”.

Step 2: First Interview

Selected applicants will be invited to take part in a first interview to discuss their background, experience, and interest in training.

Step 3: Second Interview and Presentation

Selected applicants will be invited to a second interview which will include a short presentation (10 – 15 minutes) on content related to their area of expertise. The presentation will be delivered to a panel of 2-3 ACHIEVE staff members.  

Step 4: Offer from ACHIEVE

Successful candidates will be notified by email and will receive the necessary documentation and ongoing support.
