Conflict holds great potential for harm and for good. The results of unhealthy conflict impact us individually and contribute to negative group performance. Those people who master essential conflict resolution skills reduce the occurrence of negative conflict in their lives, leading to healthier, happier relationships and work environments. Conflict has many sources, including miscommunication, disagreements, stress and personality differences.
Whether sharing bad news with a client, providing corrective action or talking with a colleague about an uncomfortable issue, difficult conversations often take a large mental and emotional toll on all participants. In fact, having difficult conversations can be one of the most stressful and uncomfortable aspects of our lives and work. Yet the ability to handle difficult conversations respectfully and professionally is also an essential workplace skill.
We all encounter people we find difficult. Typically conversations with them leave us feeling frustrated, stressed, angry and tired. This workshop will analyze what is happening in those exchanges and demonstrate how people can adapt their strategies to bring about more productive conversations with those they find difficult. Individual styles will be explored with an emphasis on understanding and adapting one’s style to create different results.
Unresolved conflict becomes time consuming and limits the productivity of everyone. A third party facilitator may be needed to help mediate the difficult conversation for resolving the conflict when the people involved do not resolve it on their own. This skills-based workshop is designed to give participants the tools to work with disputing parties to clarify misunderstandings, identify interests and work towards options for resolving the conflict.

Essential leadership skills and competencies often mean the difference between thriving or failing in a leadership role. This workshop is designed to help new or existing leaders increase their abilities to lead teams. Participants will gain skills to engage others, assess team dynamics, make better decisions, and to improve trust and influence with those they are leading.
One of the most difficult and often overlooked aspects of moving into a supervisory or management position is developing the skills necessary to truly manage people. Like all skills, management skills must be learned. This workshop presents the crucial skills for managing employment relationships from beginning to end, with particular focus on hiring and performance management.
ACHIEVE CEO and Author, Randy Grieser, will share his own journey of leadership and inspire you to think differently and grow as a leader. This training is based on his book, The Ordinary Leader: 10 Key Insights for Building and Leading a Thriving Organization, and explores how to make each of these insights a reality in your own organization. Particular attention will be given to employee engagement and organizational health – two areas that an ACHIEVE survey showed were of the greatest importance to leaders and employees.
Effective leaders inspire positive growth, change and healthy work relationships. This workshop provides leaders with a set of coaching tools to bring out the best in the people they lead. It demonstrates a mindset and related skills for leading others through their personal and professional development in their working careers. Participants will learn a coaching model for working with their employees to enable changes in behaviour, promote skill development and resolve conflict.

The Early Registration rate is available for those participants who submit both their registration form and payment 3 weeks before the workshop.
Participants will receive a spiral bound training manual and a certificate of completion.
The workshops start at 9:00 AM and conclude around 4:00 PM. Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on the first day to check in and receive a training manual. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM, unless otherwise stated above. Our half day workshops start at 9:00 am and conclude at 12:00pm
Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.
We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.
Group Registration Instructions
To register a group for a workshop, register for selected workshop, then once in shopping cart, add quantity of participants and provide names of all participants.
Continuing Education Credit
Workshop participants receive a certificate indicating credits awarded based on the length and completion of the workshop. A two day workshop earns 12 Continuing Education hours, a one day workshop earns 6 hours and a half day workshop earns 3 hours. While many associations and licensing bodies accept ACHIEVE workshops for Continuing Education Credit, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body you are requesting the credits for.
