Whether sharing bad news with a client, providing corrective action, or talking with a colleague about an uncomfortable issue, difficult conversations are typically stressful and often take a large mental and emotional toll. Many people avoid difficult conversations for these reasons, or find themselves ill prepared when they must have them. Yet, the ability to handle difficult conversations is an important skill for the workplace. This workshop will review the key elements necessary to engage successfully in difficult conversations. Participants will leave this workshop with a set of tools to help ensure that difficult conversations are productive, professional, and respectful for all involved.

Wendy Loewen, Managing Director

Wendy is the Managing Director of ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership and co-author of the book, The Culture Question. She is a thoughtful and empowering leader who believes in the importance of listening to the needs and aspirations of people, and then facilitating the next step in their development. Wendy is vice president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Manitoba. She is a former teacher and director of a health and social services program. Wendy has a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Management, and Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Education. She believes that learning is a dynamic and lifelong endeavor, and with commitment and guidance, the process should be enjoyable and motivating. Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled seven or more days prior to the workshop/live stream are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively, you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than seven days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to take part in the event, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name of the alternate person.

We reserve the right to cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop/live-stream fees only.

Continuing Education Credit

While many associations and licensing bodies accept ACHIEVE workshops for continuing education credits, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body for which you are requesting the credits. Credit hours: There are six continuing education credits earned for each day of training. For example, a one-day workshop earns six continuing education hours, while a two-day workshop earns 12 hours. A certificate will be awarded upon the completion of the workshop.
