Mike has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution. He has over twenty years of experience as a leader in the mediation and conflict resolution field. Through his training and consulting work, he has helped a variety of organizations become better workplaces, including crown corporations, social service agencies, Indigenous communities, businesses and school divisions...
Due to the high demand for this workshop and its relevance to many workplaces, ACHIEVE offers a public train-the-trainer program for our Conflict Resolution Skills workshop. Training an internal trainer to deliver this workshop enhances organization know-how. It also saves costs at the same time.
About This Workshop
Train-the-Trainer Program at a Glance
Certification allows you to present the workshop you have learned at your organization of employment only.
Attendance at the 3-day Train-the-Trainer session is required.

- You and your employer must sign an agreement that indicates acceptance of the commitments involved. View an example of a signed agreement. Please note that the registration process is not complete until we receive the agreement. Please mail it to us at your earliest convenience
- Facilitate at least one training a year in order to maintain certification.
- Present the workshop in a manner that is consistent with how ACHIEVE presents the workshop.
- As materials are modified from time to time to make them more relevant and current, you will need to review and adapt these changes.
Train-the-Trainer Workshop in Detail
In the first day of the train-the-trainer program, participants will take the Conflict Resolution Skills workshop. Day two begins with a question and answer session, followed by a review of important facilitation strategies and techniques. Future trainers will then begin preparing for their role in delivering a portion of the workshop. On day three each participant will present a section of the workshop.

This workshop has been successfully delivered by ACHIEVE Trainers for the past six years. Children and unregistered guests are not permitted in the meeting rooms.
The Early Registration rate is available for those participants who submit both their registration form and payment 3 weeks before the workshop.
Participants will receive a spiral bound training manual and a certificate of completion.
The workshops start at 9:00 AM and conclude around 4:00 PM. Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on the first day to check in and receive a training manual. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM.
Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify ACHIEVE of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.
We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.
Group Registration Instructions
To register a group for a workshop, register for selected workshop, then once in shopping cart, add quantity of participants and provide names of all participants.
Continuing Education Credit
Workshop participants receive a certificate indicating credits awarded based on the length and completion of the workshop. A two day workshop earns 12 Continuing Education hours and a one day workshop earns 6 hours. While many associations and licensing bodies accept ACHIEVE workshops for Continuing Education Credit, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body you are requesting the credits for.
